Brief Answer:
bleeding?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

various disorders may cause a salty taste. These include salivary gland infection,post-nasal dripping (sinus infection or allergy), small amount of blood (from the gums usually), dehydration (lack of water intake), perhaps side effects of drugs or supplements, etc.

One of the most commonly involved causes is bleeding. Very small drops of blood in the mouth (bad oral hygiene with bleeding gums for example) will cause a salty taste.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
