Question : Hi, I,ve had severe lower abdominal pain for about 5 days. For the first three, I passed no stools. I then started drinking aloe Vera juice and that enabled me to pass a very small stool. However, when I wiped, there was pinkish coloured blood and mucus on the tissue. I went to the pharmacist to see if they could recommend anything and they gave me a laxitive (sachets). I took two yesterday as instructed and it has led to some diarroah this morning, which provides short term relief, but I have been checking when I wipe, for blood etc. and there were tiny, hard, red things, which are like splinters. I'm a little concerned. I haven't taken any more of the laxitive.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
A combination of constipation and blood in stools need to be evaluated at the earliest.
Some of the causes include hemorrhoids, fissures and malignancy.
A colonoscopy has to be done to find the cause.
You can consult your gastroenterologist for this test.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
