Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection or inflammatory bowels disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

The inflammation can be due to bacterial infection or inflammatory bowels diseases (Crohns disease).
Infection gives fever. Crohns usually does not give fever.
I hope she have had colonoscopy done. If not, she should have as such symptoms can also appear due to colon cancer. Please suggest that to her doctors.
