What Causes Severe Chest Pain?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Aug 2017
Question: I am only 28 years old and I am experiencing middle of my chest pain. It feels as though someone has punched me in the chest. It does ease a little when I lay on my right side, but is still constantly there. Research just tells me I'm having a heart attack, but I don't think that could be correct.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that considering your age and female gender it's highly unlikely to have a heart attack as female's have hormonal protection till menopause.

However we cannot ignore the symptoms and to be sure we need to take few basic tests like an
1.ECG
2.Echocardiography
3. Chest xray

As these tests will help to evaluate other possible causes of this type of chest pain like pleurisy, pericarditis etc.

So its highly advisable that you should personally consult a cardiologist for thorough evaluation and proper diagnosis.

I hope this information will be helpful.

Kind regards
