Brief Answer:
Neurontin should be tapered, amytriptiline or pregabalin could work.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

I guess you've been treated about peripheral neuropathy.

I need first to know if the cause of neuropathy is discovered, because fighting the cause should improve the symptoms too.

I also need to know if nerve conduction study concluded in finding compression of nerves, or not.

One possible condition that is resolved by a minimal surgical procedure is bilateral tarsal tunnel syndrome.

Since you experienced side effects of Neurontin use, stopping it is the best thing to do, but it should be done by decreasing the dose gradually.

Other possible symptomatic treatments include use of amytriptiline, or pregabalin (Lyrica).

Both are prescription drugs, so, there is need to discuss with your primary care Doctor about their prescription and use.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
