Question : I have had diarrhea for two weeks. Stomach pain and whenever I eat or drink, my bowels move. No fever present or body aches. I have a dog that gets heart guard heart worm preventative every month. She sleeps on my bed. I wonder if I could have parasites in my intestines. I have a colonoscopy every three years and they always remove pre-cancerous polyps. I have a history of irritable bowel syndrome which is aggravated by stress. I've been on a healthy diet since July 2016 and my weight has gone from 178# to 137#. I am 5'2" and 68 years of age. I really don't feel good.

Hi

As per your description, it could be due to Infection of the gut or Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). A complete stool examination can help find the cause.

Initially, I prescribe Antibiotic Levofloxacin 250mg twice daily after food, Capsule PREPRO HS after food. This is a prescription medicine. These two medicines will cover the Infection as well as IBS.
You should consult your doctor and get Colonoscopy if necessary.
