Question : If someone is really dizzy and weak and has been in the hospital with temperature close to hundred and five there in a nursing skill place now but there platelet some more than double what can that mean

Hi and thanks for the query,

It sounds like there may be a serius infection going on which contributed to the fevers. Hopefully she is on some antibiotics to take care of this process.

Regarding the platelets - these will sometimes go up if there is an ongoing infectious or inflammatory process. This may persist for a while until the infection comes under better control.

Usually with continued management of the infection, the platelet count will return closer to normal in a number of days.
