Brief Answer:
Test for Gout to confirm

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome to HCM

I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

The best test to confirm gout is to take a sample of the joint fluid and look at it under a microscope. Gout crystals look a very particular shape and hence, the doctor will be able to tell if he has gout easily.

You might benefit by taking an opinion from another doctor.

Also, you might need to change to chronic medication and not acute medication for gout. Talk to a doctor about this.

I hope I have answered your question. Please follow up if you have more questions. All the best.
