Question: 73y.o.woman went to urgent care 3 weeks ago flu-like symptoms with a cough eye discharge of yellowish exudate cough--no apparent fever. a nose swab was taken and was negative for flu she was given Azithromycin plus eyedrops --levfloxacin and benzolkoilium: symptoms improved very aslowly with intermittent relief. tonight earache has returned and eyes have become very itchy ----hard to open--sticky-and woman says she feels justas she felt at the beginning:sore glands on both sides of upper neck--but not a sore throat: she swallows easily--She apparently caught something on the plane from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX and so she did go tothe urgent care inOrlando...... She has been taking regular doses of Oil of Oregano Diluted with water which was her routine preventtive customfor years......She is now back in XXXXXXX with me and has only Medicare insurance with a Chsmp(not Campus) secondary insurance: which only pays if Medicare approves:Question:should I taKE HER TO AN URGENT CARE OR TO AN ER(WHICH MAY NOT BE COVERED ATAN ER UNLESS IT IS "LIFE-THREATENING"? ALSO ALSO URGENT CARE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE ON TODAY(NEW YEARS DAY)- ANYWAY...........?MEANWHILE I WILL BE SEARCHING XXXXXXX FOR ANY OPEN URGENT CARE IN OUR 85718 ZIP CODE AREA.....
