Brief Answer:
Patterned alopecia

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXXXXX
Welcome to HealthcareMagic,

I have gone through your query and Photograph uploaded by you and understood it well.

You are suffering from Androgenetic alopecia, female pattern. The type is Christmas tree pattern in which the thinning is wider in the frontal scalp giving the alopecic area a triangular shaped figure resembling a christmas tree.

Since your hair fall started after childbirth most probably you were misdiagnosed as Telogen effluvium at that time. But at present there must be some component of Telogen effluvium is there as you have decreased your weight 13 kg in just 6-8 months.

Since you are suffering from PCOD, the elevated androgen has caused this androgenetic alopecia.

PRP therapy (Platelet rich plasma) in which self platelet is injected through insulin syringe as well as dermaroller is helpful in regrowth of hair.
But only drug approved by US FDA is Minoxidil 2%, one ml of this has to be applied twice daily on hair loss area.
I usually prescribe tab Biotin 10 mg + PABA + calcium pantothenate 100 mg to be taken once daily.

I will advise you to add biotin tablet and minoxidil and continue sessions of PRP therapy.

Hope this will help you.
Thanks.

Thanks for your response.
1. Minoxidil 2 % i have applied earlier for almost 4-5 years , though it stops hairfall but it dint help in covering the bald area.
2. Do I need to see a endocrinologist & take medicines to decrease Androgen level.
3. How does biotin helps? For what duration I have to take Biotin?
4. Should I continue with Glycomet SR 500, Shelcal & Autrin tablets & Tricoplus for women also along with Biotin?
5. What is PABA & calcium pantothenate 100mg tablets , are these hormone related medicines which will help me decrease the androgen level. Should i take these as well along with Biotin?
6. How long I have to continue all medications & PRP therapy?
7. When will i start seeing the effect in the sense covering my bald area?I am really depressed...its since long that i see no benefits. I also consulted Dr XXXXXXX hair specialist & took the medicines prescribed by him like Biotin etc for 2 years but again it stopped hairfall but dint cover the bald area?
9. Which shampoo should i use on daily basis, please advise? Currently I am using Anaphase almost daily, Selsun once a week and Head & shoulders daily. Actually whenever I apply oil i have to use Head & shoulders to get rid of the oil, anaphase do not help remove the oil completely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome again,
1. Minoxidil has rebound phenomenon. After stopping the drug hair fall will again start.
2. Endocrinologist are more specialized in treating hormone disorder.
3.Biotin helps in keratinization, continue this for six month atleast.
4.Glycomet you are taking is also for PCOD,(insulin resistance). It decreases glucose level and keep watch on it.
5.PABA and calcium pantothenate is not hormone related. These are vitamins and health supplement.
6.Need to continue medication at least for six month and for maintenance according to result.
7.Hair fall will stop in 3-4 month and new hair will start growing after 5-6 months.
If you are not benefited from medicine can go for hair transplant.
8.use volumizing shampoo(8X from cipla) for daily use.
Hope this will help you.

1. since it is a lifelong condition, needs prolong therapy. Five years trial has shown no side effects.
2.androgen is a hormone if its level has increased or decreased its a hormone disorder.
3.Iron and calcium (Autrin and calcium) level should be checked if deficiency is there then contined otherwise not.
4.Is PABA and calcium pantothenate is required usually comes in combination of biotin.
5.It a form of conditioner good for hair but wont stops hair fall.
