Question: hello my name is XXXXXXX and I'm on metoprolol er succinate 100 mg tabs and i notice a lot of hair loss.....i would like to know is it possible for my to change my meds to something that won't take out my hair......im sure i would need something that will work like metoprolol but just don't take out my hair .........i had a full head of hair now i have bald spots all over my head

Anyway the fact that your symptoms are closely related to metoprolol intake, indicates its implication in this adverse effect.

Coming to this point, I would recommend switching to another beta-blocker like nebivolol. This betablocker is better tolerated because it has less adverse effects.

You can switch directly from metoprolol 100mg to nebivolol 5mg daily.
