Question : I have been using Minoxidil and after month moved to Minokem, Sternon and Vitanext lotion for alopecia areata. But after using this i have seen a very alarming increase in hair loss in patches. Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
Regarding management of alopecia areata

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Clearly topical treatment alone has not been effective for you.
Moreover, instead of minoxidil, Intralesional triamcinolone acetonide is the treatment of choice for alopecia areata. I suggest you to consult your doctor regarding this. XXXXXXX since you are developing multiple new patches you may also be a candidate for oral treatment with pulse steroids.
