What Causes Severe Headache Along With Neck Pain?

Question: Hi Sir,

This is XXXX.i am staying in XXXXXXX

i have been suffering with headache on forehead (almost 24 hours) along with neck pain.I have consulted many doctors in andhra pradesh and XXXXXXX But i didnt get relief.while searching in internet regarding CMC hospital vellore.I got your details.

If i had butter milk,curd,cold water,sugar,sweets.I feel like head ache is increasing.i will get 1 or 2 times sneezing and feeling sleepy.

If i bend the head down,feel heaviness.

Some doctors told it is not sinusitis,it is one type of migraine headache.

please find the attached latest MRI report.

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your clinical details and also seen the MRI report. Based on the symptoms, it is suggestive of migraine. I agree Sibelium and tryptomer cause lot of sleepiness.

For you, better options would be Topiramate or Propranolol. These medicines do not cause sleepiness and are more effective. The purpose of these medicines is to reduce the severity and frequency of headache episodes.

For headache, you can take Naprosyn or Rizatriptan tablets, as and when you get headaches (maximum 2 per day).

Thank you for your reply.
I'm getting 24 hours headache along with neck pain..some times cheeks also paining.

Body becoming heat and feeling gastric problem.if I have any items like butter milk,curd and coconut water for reducing body heat..headache is increasing...

I went to through food intolerance test also.. only 3 times wheat,cashew, and goat milk are came positive..

Suffering alot from 15 years... please help me...

Do I need to use any course of medicines for one or two months?

Which tablet do I need to take few months naprosyn or rizatriptan and also dose like 250 mg or 500 mg,at what time do I need to have morning or night..please let me know...

Thank you for getting back.

Topiramate is needed daily. The usual dose is 25mg -100 mg daily, given in morning after breakfast.

Naprosyn is used, as and when necessary, for the relief of severe headache. The usual dose is 500 mg (upto a maximum of two tablets per day).

Both these are prescription medicines, so, you can get them prescribed by your doctor.
