Brief Answer:
Diagnosis of disease and treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi Jkjenny, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The symptoms of one side headache, tingling over face/neck/shoulder could be due to

: Migraine
: Less likely cervical spondylosis

To conform diagnosis, I ll briefly mention symptoms of both and you can correlate your features to reach unto some conclusion.

: Migraine - It presents as one side headache, vomiting, fear from light, blurred vision, redness and watering from eyes, aura symptoms before headache like abnormal smell/taste/palpitation, tingling/numbness in same side of body. It is classical migraine.

: Cervical spondylosis - It presents as mainly neck pain which can radiate same side head (back part), shoulder and upper limb, sharp, shooting, current like pain, tingling, numbness in extremities, more pain on flexion/working/using pillow/lifting weight.

You can relate your findings or you can provide more details by asking another question and I ll make some conclusion.
Treatment of these two conditions is totally different. After making diagnosis, I will discuss treatment option with you.

Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.

Brief Answer:
Diagnosis and treatment of illness

Detailed Answer:
Hi Jkjenny, thanks for asking.

If you are having mainly tingling sensation on left side upper limb, it is more likely "Cervical Spondylosis". I am presuming that you are not having any visual blurring, redness in eyes, aura symptoms.

We have to confirm "cervical spondylosis". It is diagnosed by

: Examination of neck and extremities
: X ray of cervical spine - anteroposterior and lateral film
: MRI cervical spine (Plain).

After confirmation, treatment is given which is first conservative and if no relief, surgery can be done depending upon symptom severity and disc changes

Conservative treatment
: Avoid neck flexion or forward bending, sudden jerk movement on neck
: Avoid pillow use while lying flat
: Avoid weight lifting

: You can use soft neck collar for immobilization. It should be used 8 hours a day while doing work.
: You have to consult doctor to rule out osteoporosis. It needs to be treated by calcium, Vitamin D3 supplements.

: Medication which can control pain and tingling like Pregabalin, Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Gabapentine can be taken after proper prescription.

: Some neutron specific multivitamin may also help like B12, Folic acid, Tetrahydrofolate, Pyridoxine, Pantothenic acid etc. You can take one capsule daily after prescription.

: You can also take S-Adenosylmethionine after proper prescription.
: After pain relief, start stretching exercise under physiotherapist supervision.

Hope it will help. Kindly let me know about your investigation reports, it will helpful in prescribing proper treatment advise.

Thanks. Take care.
