What Causes Severe Headaches After Intercourse?

Question : I've noticed that every time after I have an orgasm, my head throbs in unison with my heartbeat. I am currently still recovering from a minor blow to the temple that was caused by my little brother accidentally giving me a head butt. I was having headaches, vertigo, flashes in my vision, dizziness and now I am currently (10 days later) still experiencing on and off headaches. I went and a saw my doctor on the fifth day prior to the incident and he summed it up to being a concussion, and that it would just be a matter of time. also, whenever I stand up, I see black and get extremely dizzy. Although I've had this happen before, it's been getting progressively worse since the incident. Any reason for the throbbing? Should I be concerned?

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Headaches related to orgasm are known as sex headaches.

Most of these sex headaches are nothing to worry about, only in rare cases, these headaches are related to conditions such brain aneurysm, vascular malformations, stroke etc.

Concussion may have worsened this throbbing, so, in my opinion, you should give some more time to improve.

If no improvement after few days you should get checked by your primary care Doctor and by brain imaging such MRI.

In conclusion, there seems to be not a serious condition brought on by trauma, if symptoms persist with time, a further evaluation about sex headaches causes is necessary.
