Question : My wife complained of her right eye being irritated. She put Vision Allergy drops in her eye , and now it is more dilated that her left eye. It still responds to light, but is still larger than her left eye. It this an emergency situation or can we wait until tomorrow to go to her eye doctor.

Brief Answer:
This is sometimes a normal effect of drops.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

I hope the irritation is fine now, actually there are some ingredients in allergy drops which may dilate the pupil , it stays dilated till the effect of drops stays there then it goes back to normal , In my opinion there is no emergency situation in this case, Visine has a decongestant and possibly some Atropine effect which can dilate the pupil this should get fine as local effects of the medicine wither off.

In my opinion you can wait till tomorrow without any expected problem. Just don't panic best thing for your wife is to give her eyes rest, close them and relax. This being said, if eye size was different BEFORE the drops then you need to see your doctor now ,otherwise it's alright to wait till tomorrow if it happened after putting the drops.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.
