Question: I have had 7-8 years ago a total coloectomy. I have had chronic diarrhea since then which is a normal thing for me. I am currently having severe itching and burning in my anus and leakage. Corticosteroids do not help. I have an appt with my dr the end of Feb. can't get in any earlier. The appt is with my colorectal surgeon

Brief Answer:
Proctitis with peri-anal post-diarrheal erosions

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed your query facts in context to your health concerns.
Chronic diarrhea is the after effect of Total colectomy and is not an issue with you.
The peri-anal itching / burning in anus with leakage, could be from incontinence from sensitive proctitis.

Please update more information on this perception, as based on the data of your submitted facts.
I would need more information for suggesting a plan to treat the anal itching and anal leakage.
The leak is mucoid / yellowish / or with feacal matter?
Does the perianal skin burning occurs after you evacuate your bowels each time?
What was reason for total colectomy? Crohn's / Cancer Colon-rectum?

Awaiting more information from you,to help you out soon in next few sessions.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.
