Question : It's about my husband... He has been having pain in legs and joints, congestion (coughing), and now, fever. He visited a doctor who prescribed Doxycycline which he has been taking for four days. The Lymes tests came back negative. He continues to carry a fever, from 100.3 in the a.m. to 102.7 at noon. He has taken Advil in the morning, then Tylenol at noon aalong with the Doxy and Mucinex DM. He still feel pretty rotten. Anything more I should do? YYYY@YYYY I did not mention the rash on his legs, which has dissapated. What do you mean by do not ignore? Should I take him to a nearby hospital? I am concerned because it is Saturday, and many doctors are not on duty.

Brief Answer:
Wait till monday.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, he is mostly having viral infection and related symptoms.
Along with these drugs, you should also give him antihistamine like levocetrizine or fexofenadine.
Also tell him to drink plenty of fluids orally and keep him self-contained hydrated.
You can wait till monday.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
