What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Oct 2016
Question: I have a lot of lower back pain that would be best described by a burning on either side of my lower spine. Also, when I urinate, there is a strong odor but it is not dark. Could these be symptoms of some type of kidney problem. I have had bacterial bladder and urinary tract infections in the past.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Yes, this can be a kidney infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Yes, definitely such symptoms can be caused by a kidney infection. As your urine smells bad, diabetes can be the reason of recurring infection.
Please do not wait with it. Otherwise you may have kidney failure. Urine analysis and urine culture should be done.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
