Brief Answer:
Did you say he’s been like this since birth?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

To be of help, I will like to get more information from you.

For how long has he been behaving this way?
Has he been seen by a psychiatrist and for how long has he been on risperidone?
What has changed recently? Worsening or still about the same?
How would you describe his level of functioning?

I hope to get these results in order to be able to craft a more personalized and helpful response to you. However, most mood swings are caused by psychiatric illnesses such as bipolar, depression, and thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism. To establish the exact cause, more information would be needed.

I hope to hear back from you on the above questions and I wish your nephew well.

He has been behaving like this for awhile now. He has not seen a psychiatrist only doctors and he been on the Risperdal for 2yrs now. His behaviors have been the same and it's like he really gets mad at something and sometimes he really hurts his mom not knowing what he doing. I myself have worked in nursing homes all my life I think Risperdal is a bad medication and it makes people have behaviors like that. I don't know cause I'm not a doctor. Pls advise. XXXXXXX

Yes he's been like this since birth.

Brief Answer:
Get him to see the doctor again. Risperidone is not the cause!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

From birth, there really seems to be a personality component to his problem. In addition to taking anti-psychotic medications, I will suggest that he gets behavioral therapy from his psychiatrists. This way, he would be able to consider his actions before executing and avoid hurting her mom. Risperidone is not known to rather cause this, it israthler why it is prescribed to clients.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
