Question : I am having muscle spasms day and night . Could some of it be to my new medication Diovan

Yes, Diovan or Valasartan does cause muscle cramps because it increases water excretion and can also increase the Serum Potassium levels.

I would advise you to get your Serum Potassium levels checked.

Keep well hydrated. Take Tablet Neurobion forte twice a day for a month. Avoid high Potassium food like bananas, tomatoes.
