What Causes Severe Pain And Spasms In Front Of Right Heel?

default
Posted on Sat, 24 Oct 2015
Question: I have severe pain on the outside of my right foot just in front of the heel/ If I twist my foot just right, I get severe spasms in the foot that require me to get up and stand to stop the spasms. The pain when I first get out of bed in the morning is severe each step I take. It never really stops during the day but immediately after arising it is at its worst. The area that gives me pain is `just below the ankle and on the outside edge of the foot.

Brief Answer:
Possible plantar fasciitis?Need to rule out stress fracture.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

I have gone through your query in detail.

As per your symptoms, the possibility of plantar fascitis and Calcaneal stress fracture is high.

For this, I advise you to get an MRI scan of the ankle.

This will clearly help to demarcate the joint, bone and ligament pathology.

Further management whether medical or surgical is based on the test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
