Question : Severe pain around the lower pelvic region and down both legs. I cannot sit down or lie down. This has been getting progressively more intense over the past few weeks.
Brief Answer:
Xray of the Spine and blood counts
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You should get a spine xray of the lower vertebra. Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis of the vertebral joints should be thought in such cases.
Get blood counts and urine counts as well.
This will give an idea how to proceed further. You can take this opinion to your Internal Meds doctor. Also let me know about your medical history in the past.
What medications are you taking now for any medical conditions that you may have. are you sexually active?
I will be waiting.

Thank you for your prompt response. My primary care doctor gave me a cortzone (sp) shot and told me to see a urologist. I did that. The urologist said I should try physical therapy. I did that and the pain got worse. My next move is to try and find an orthopedic doctor (and a new primary care physician!).
Brief Answer:
Physical therapy coupled with Spine surgeon opinion
Detailed Answer:
Physical therapy should have helped you. You should also take Orthopedic Surgeon opinion/Spine surgeon.
xray should say the story to be precise. If not an MRI.
Pain medicine should be considered like simple double strength tylenol or Ibuprofen will help.
Let me know after you meet the doctors.
