Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern.
Passing stool once in two-three days is normal in this age.But if there is significant distress while passing stool,it needs an attention.
I would like to know if the stool is very hard or pellet like. You have mentioned that she is on formula. To me it is not clear whether you want to say formula feed or formula(anticolic) for colic.

You can take following steps if the baby is formula fed
1)Check the dilution of formula feed.Whether there is adequate proportion of water added while preparation.Too concentrated formula can cause infrequent stool.

2)You can try changing the formula.Sometimes symptoms get relieved by changing the brand only.If symptoms persist even after changing the brand she may be shifted to low lactose formula or soya based formula.

If baby is breast fed-

1)Avoid beans, spices and dairy products in your diet.

2)Take plenty of fluids in your diet for adequate milk production.

Follow these general measures irrespective of being breast or formula fed

1)Keep the baby upright and burp properly after each feed to release the swallowed air.

2)Cycling movement of lower limbs and gentle pressing of thigh over the abdomen helps in relieving the gas.

3)Colic is very common in this age.Continue giving colic drops.

Get thyroid profile checked if not done earlier. As hypothyroidism can cause infrequent passage of stool.

I hope this would help.

Wishing for your baby's good health.

Brief Answer:
Try lactose free soya based formula

Detailed Answer:
Formula fed babies encounter more gastrointestinal problems.I would suggest you to change the formula and switch to soya based formula.
Burp after each feed as advised.
I hope her symptoms will improve.
