                                    Brief Answer:
Mostly nothing abnormal.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand the concern.
This kind of muscle pain (in knee, ankle or lower back) in exercises beginners is quite normal because of initial muscle break down or say microscopic tear in muscles.
But before further discussion, let me know you Age,sex, height and weight.
What kind of particular exercises you are doing and for how many hours in a day?
Since how many days you are having this pain?Any medication tried?
Any past problem of knee or ankle pain before 15 days?
Awaiting your response.
Regards,
Dr.Sandip Kabra

                                    Brief Answer:
continue with OTC pain killers.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome again,
Thanks for providing more information,
If you have already taken over the counter pain killers without much help and if pain is severe from 15 days then I would suggest you to undergo x-ray scan of knee and ankle to rule out any bone related issue since you said you had a knee injury during basketball.
If pain is not troublesome then better to continue with OTC pain killers-muscle relaxant combinations pills (like tablet Dan-MR on as and when required basis) and vitamin B complex with folic acid supplements which will be helpful for faster healing of microscopic tear in muscles due to exercises.
Also ,you should maintain proper water intake during and after exercises and take fruit juices like lemon water, coconut water to avoid any fluid or electrolyte deficit especially sodium and potassium.
In addition,I would suggest you to go with mild workouts initially with strict dietary precautions to loose some weight. However, your BMI is 27.7 which is NOT so high or I would say that your are not obese.
Hope this helps and let me know if you want any more information to loose weight.

Dr.Sandip Kabra

                                    Brief Answer:
Needs further clinical evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
It is good that you have started workouts to reduce weight.
But if you have swollen feet along with pain (as you described earlier) then it needs further evaluation by complete clinical examination and various tests like routine blood works, urine, liver and renal function tests.
You should see some local physician who will know about it and also will run a physical evaluation.
Meanwhile, you may take over the pain killers like Dan-MR for symptomatic relief.
Let me know if I can guide you further.
