Question : My husband appears to a lot of pain on the right side breast. It has been going on all day. It comes and goes.
He is 80 and receives hormone shots every six month for prostate cancer

Rule out Gynecomastia ( Look for enlarged breast )

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
As you say Your husband has been taking hormones for prostate cancer .
These shots are Anti-Testosterone hormones ( The major hormone of a man) . The side effects of this is painful enlargement of the breasts .

So alone, if there's pain on feeling the breast, if you notice they are enlarged as compared to previous , than the diagnosis of Gynecomastia can be made .

If only pain with no breast Enlargement than Get and X ray chest done to any lung pathology and consult a doctor who can examine him and try to narrow down on other possibilities.

As the pain is persistent throughout the day , Heart as cause is not very common.
