Brief Answer:
Bone spur,possibly due to osteoarthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the query at HealthcareMagic

Bone spur in toe is commonly due to osteoarthritis of toe. The long term wear and tear of bone results in the formation of bone spurs.

There are few things you can try to help relieve pain
-Take ibuprofen (If not allergic) for pain
-wear comfortable flat shoes, avoid pointy shoes as they provide less room for toes
-Use insoles in your shoes to provide support to arch of foot
-Maintain a healthy weight. More weight will result in greater stress on bones in your toes
-There are custom shoes and braces available to help support feet and toes. These can also help in reducing pain.
-Physiotherapy and stretching exercises have also shown to help.

Please follow up with an orthopedician to discuss these options and appropriate management.
Surgery is indicated only when all the non-surgical measures have been tried and ineffective.

Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
