Question : This morning, I woke up & my right wrist was in considerable pain. I thought it was like sleeping "wrong" on one's neck, but it goes away during the day. Instead, the pain did not go away and it's painful to grip things like door handles.

I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
You seem to have hurt/ twisted your wrist some where, which because of lack of proper attention, and rest may be troubling you.
You should give ice pack immediately and can take anti inflammatory analgesics.
You should also lock the movement of the affected wrist with the help of a elastic bandage.
It should heel in a few days time.
If you feel pain is severe or with swelling, you should consult a doctor, as it may require an X RAY.
