What Causes Severe Pain On Top And Arch Of Foot?

Question: I am experiencing the rapid onset of rather severe pain on top and arch of one foot (Level 7} for no apparent reason. It began this morning and has become more painful over the past 10 hours. Might you have any idea or diagnosis for this condition?

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having tendinitis, inflammation of the tendon.
I would suggest that you should get an X - Ray of foot (AP, Lateral and Oblique view) done and get yourself clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon.
You can take painkiller like Ibuprofen twice daily after meals along with a muscle relaxant like Chloroxazone and an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg.
Local application of pain relieving gel will have added benefits.
Further medical management can be planned according to the reports of the X - Ray and according to the clinical evaluation done by your doctor.
