Question : extreme pain on left side just below the rib cage and unable to have a bowel movement

Brief Answer:
It could be due to constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen below the ribcage could be due to Colon because of Constipation.
Take high fiber diet.Drink plenty of liquids.Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
I prefer an antispasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine to my patients with similar complaints.
If there is no response, Ultrasound abdomen has to be taken to rule out Spleen and Left kidney lesions.
