What Causes Severe Pelvic Pain, Black Stools And Excessive Sweating?

Question: Hi,

This is a follow-up from a previous question:

"Hi,

I have had a burning pain in my pelvis area on the right hand side, just above my groin for 2 weeks now.

I often feel a burning sensation when I urinate; this burning often feels in a large area from the groin all the way up to the pelvis.

In addition to this, I’ve had these severe sharp pains in my groin area, shooting pains. I cannot walk or move with these pains. These last around 30 seconds. Not long and go away. I feel stiffness afterwards. I have suffered from tendonitis but it is a different kind of pain.

I have also had problems with my feet as they are at different degree different angles and I am seeing an orthotic specialist.

I saw my GP a month ago and she thinks it’s my hip due to my foot condition.

However, the pain feels higher up than where my hip and the pain has become more frequent.

I’ve also noticed my stool is a black tar colour. I also suspect my urine has been a darker colour lately but today it is not dark. I don’t know whether I’m imaging this.

I’ve been sweating a lot more recently and this is unusual. I’ve realised it started to occur the same time my pelvis pain began. I’ve never considered it was connected.

I know it sound stupid but I've been having nightmares regarding my symptoms.

Also - one thing I forgot to mention. Sometimes when I urinate, I feel like it's inflating. Like a balloon. It's not a sensation that hurts."

The doctor on here recommended a urine test with an ultrasound of the abdomen and a scopy.

I saw my own GP and she gave me a full blood test and a urine test. Both my blood and urine test was fine. She mentioned possible irritable bowel syndrome but she was vague on what it could be.

The symptoms are still present - although it has been less painful the last few days. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
An Endoscopy will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would suggest that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated by a Gastroentologist. An Endoscopy may be helpful. Since you are having black tarry stools, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract might be a possibility.
Bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract can be as a result of pain killers that you might have taken.
I would advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals.
Avoid spicy and oily foods and being empty stomach for long periods. Also avoid smoking and alcohol, if any. Do not take any pain killers and steroids.
An Endoscopy and a stool test for occult blood along with a clinical evaluation by your doctor will help in planning further medical management.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
