Question: 5 weeks ago I was diagnosed by a doctor with a food allergy due to a rash that begun on the tops of my feet. he prescribed me Predisilone which I took for 3 weeks. my rash become much worse and ended up on my legs, arms, torso and worst on my groin. I work in a remote location on a mine where it is 45 degrees so hot, humid and I sweat prefucly. I went and seen a skin specialist who said straight awsy I had tinea crusis and corporis. I gained a secondary infection due to leaving it so long cause I just thought it was a allergy and the predisilone would cure it. I've been on lamisil for a week and my Infection is nearly gone but all the rash has turned a purple colour now. the rash seems to be getting many pimples aping it to. why is this?

Brief Answer:
Raised pimples usually occur in tinea corporis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Tinea cruris ( fungal skin infection) usually develops in warm and moist areas of the body, and is favored by warm conditions.

Pinples in affected areas develop after itching and scratching these areas and are filled with near transparent fluid.

Keeping these areas clean and dry, besides anti fungal treatment is indispensable in treatment and in reducing itching and pimples.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks for the reply. I am planning on going back to work in a week. Due to the hot and humid conditions will my tinea crusis and XXXXXXX corporis get worse. I know the medication lamisil could take weeks to work. I just don't want to go back and aggravate it but at sane time I don't want to lose my job. Cheers

Brief Answer:
It can be controlled by treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking back.

As I mentioned before, warm and humidity favorites the fungal infections.

Since the correct diagnosis is achieved, is easier to treat your condition.

Keeping your affected areas clean and dry together with anti fungal treatment will control and heal your disease so I don't think you have to loose your job.

Hope I helped you. Wishing you good health.
