I consulted with a doctor. He took a Xray and told that it is infectious and root canal need to be done to which I agreed and he started immediately, without any previous medication(Antibiotic etc). After 1st sitting, he prescribed me antibiotic and pain killer for 3 days. I took that.
But it again started paining after completion of this course.I felt pain behind the R eye as well as coming out from the head also.
I didn’t took any pain killer further, I did the warm saline rinses, which was very painful when the warm water was coming in contact of that tooth but afterwards it was giving relief for 3 ~4 hours.I continued doing that.
My next sitting was after 1 week which got delayed by around 10 days because of this pain.So I had next sitting after 17 days of 1st sitting. Pain was comparatively better at that time.
But after 2nd sitting , it again started paining like previously. In fact I felt heaviness in the eyes along with pain emanating from the head also.I checked with doctor, he told that it may be because of infection for which each body respond differently. In my case, it is taking little longer.I need to give time for recovery.
As per doctor, my root canal is completed and tooth is ready to be filled. In my 2nd sitting, he didn’t give any anesthesia
Today after 25 days from the 1st sitting and 6 days from the 2nd sitting, pain is still felt the same way it was in beginning. I can’t able to chew from R side. In fact in between I tried from the same and I felt very severe pain again so I stopped eating from that side.
Again warm saline rinses are helpful but when warm water touches that area, it is unbearable pain.
Infact I got my eyes also checked fearing of change in specs no but as per doctor my old no is OK.
Presently I am not having any medication and wating for the pain to improve.
Just to add, I use to felt pain coming out from my head and behind the ear for the past 1 year once in every 2~3 months.was it because of this?
My concern:
Is everything normal?
How long I will have to wait?
Is any medication required, if it is infectious?
Heaviness in eyes, specially R eye ad pain coming out from the head.It is linked with this tooth?
Pain during warm saline rinse is unbearable but after that it gives relief for 3 hrs.It is normal?
How to proceed further?
Am I getting the right treatment?

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain pain in tooth that is very severe even after 25 days and 2 Root Canal sittings is an indication that there is some problem related to the Root Canal procedure..
At times in some individuals there are additional number of root canals present in tooth, and any of it can get missed out during cleaning, the missed canal contain nerve fibres that can keep getting irritated and inflamed leading to severe pain especially when you chew that creates pressure over the nerve...
Pain in head and also ear is radiating pain from tooth only..
Pressure over the eye is due to inflammation of the sinus that is commonly seen with upper tooth infection and also radiating pain from the tooth..
But pain behind the ear and head if not associated with toothache can be due to some other causes and it will need you to get examined by a General Physician..
Pain exaggerating with warm water is due to nerve irritation that is caused with warm water but as warm water has a soothing the fence by reducing inflammation, therefore pain is reduced after gargle, so it is normal..
Medication is very much required as it will help in reducing inflammation and pain..
Anti-inflammatory painkillers Ibuprofen can help in reducing pain..
Antibiotics like Amoxicillin can help in reducing infection..
You should not wait longer and if your dentist is not able to rule out the problem then you should consult a Specialist known as Endodontist who can look into your tooth and check for extra canals and other problems and treat accordingly..
The treatment is Right but should be done appropriately for relief..
Please upload the scan of the x ray so that I can evaluate further..
Please write back for further queries..
Hope this helps..
