Brief Answer:
To speed up recovery, get examined and a prescription.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for our query.

1. Sounds like a viral Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI).

2. This viral fever can last 5 to 7 days and the body ache, fatigue longer.

3.To speed up recovery, get examined to check the severity of the infection. A blood test will also help gauge the severity and type of infection (and rule out other infections such as dengue, malaria). Your physician can then prescribe an anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory medication (paracetamol and ibuprofen would be better than aspirin), prophylactic antibiotics, nasal decongestant drops and other medication.

4. Home remedies such as adequate rest, hydration, steam inhalation, turmeric and honey in warm milk will help.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
