Question : I've had intense stomach pain after eating yesterday, no constipation, no diarrhea. The middle of my abdomen from belly button to diaphragm has a dull ache consistently all 36 hrs. It hurts my abdominal area to Belch. I've tried gas x thinking it was a bubble but it only helps a bit. when waking up this morning it was about 50% better. any idea what it is?

                                    Brief Answer:
Food poisoning possible, if not better ultrasound and blood work advisable
Detailed Answer:
Dear Patient,
if someone with your symptoms comes to my office i think about Food poisoning first, which usually heals itself ithin a few days. What is not typical in your case is the absence of diarrhea. Therefore i would also do an examination plus ultrasound of gallbladder and pancreas to rule out any inflammation of those organs. Also blood work for inflammation is advisable.
Depending on the findings in above examinations, antiinflammatory or antibiotic treatment can be perscribed.
Best regards
