What Causes Severe Swelling In The Neck?
Question: My 27 year old neice has experienced a swelling in her neck, like a goiter. All thyroid labs are negative but labs show very low blood sugar and very high cholesterol. She lives in northeastern Oregon

I will like to review her thyroid tests myself for an independent opinion on the state and functioning of the thyroid gland. While low sugars is not often suggestive of low functioning thyroid, high cholesterol does. I will therefore like to see what these values are in absolute terms. Also, living with low sugars is not very likely and am curious to find out what the values. If you could upload these reports, this will be very helpful.

Thank you, Dr Ditah. I have asked my sister to have her daughter send her labs. Thyroid ds runs in our family. My niece has also had 3 children in less than 5 years which I think stresses ones system. XXXX
