Question : My father-in-law had his leg amputated from below the knee, he is in rehab and can not keep anything down, he is getting weaker, what could be wrong with him?

Hi,

Am so sorry to hear about what your grandfather is going through. While the exact cause of this vomiting is not known, I will suggest that you use ondansetron to cut the vomiting. If this fails to address it entirely, I will suggest that he gets seen by a gastronenterologist. For now, ondansetron would be good to help him keep foods and water down. A script can only be issued by your doctor as this is not an over the counter drug.
