Question: Had gall bladder removed 13 yrs ago, w/no complications. Had several "fatty" meals Fri and have been having occasional nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. No fever, HBP or any other symptoms. No chronic health problems and am on no medications. Not taking antibiotics, and have been careful w/ diet and drinking lots of water. Have infant in home so am concerned I may be coming down w/something. Should i see my GO?

Brief Answer:
Nausea and vomiting

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having nausea, vomiting diarrhea and fatigue over the weekend. It is more than likely that you have contracted a virus or bacterial infection. At this point though there are no antibiotics or antiviral treatments that will help. The best treatment is eat a clear liquid diet and make sure you do not become dehydrated. Then start the BRAT diet just like you would for your child. Once your GI tract settles down then you can start a regular diet.

To help protect your child ash your hands frequently to help reduce chance of transmission. If your child does contract the same problem start the BRAT diet on Her/Him and prevent them from becoming dehydrated.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
