Question: Good morning doctor

I am 27 years old. For a couple of years I always had this warm feeling in my ass, a feeling which is hard to describe. I had my bloods done last year and all came back fine however the crp levels were over 20. At the time I spoke to my doctor who said he wasn't concerned as I was a young man and has seen people with higher crp who are perfectly healthy. One night after masterbating ibhad a very sharp pain in my ass and I decided to go private and get a check up. My other symptoms were frequent urination. If I had a glass of water I would have to urinate straight away.

He examined my prostate and said it felt no nodules or cancerous healthy was the word he used. I had two examinations from different doctors this was for peace of mind. He prescribed me ciprofloxacin 500mg which works a treat and all symptoms have now disappeared. Could prostatis have been the problem? My symptoms of frequent urination has also disaapeared. And I have no uncomfortable pain up there.

Sometimes I have a feeling up there but when I remove waste material from the rectum the feeling goes away. Also seminal vesicles if there was a problem with these would there be rectum pain?

Symptoms have gone I feel normal again without a discomfort feeling. I am due to get a crp test done again just a follow up what did you think the problem would be first time?
And do you think due to antibioticntreatment there will be a decrease now?

If it was prostatis I had a urine test and nothing every shows up my testicle etc have also been emaxined and no probs there also.

Seminal vesicles would any pain associated with these affect the rectum?

I can say symptoms are gone and I feel fine.

Sometimes when my bladder is full I may experience some discomfort in rectum but I have checked this with the doctor and he has said I'm normal and it's the same with every man

I was concerned about crp? Would the antibiotics have brought it back down as I feel normal? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Infection would be most probable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
All infections are usually associated with inflammation, and CRP goes up.
But, by itself, it's a non-specific test, as i'd replied earlier.
With resolution of infection, CRP also comes down.
Infection is diagnosed, after doing an urine culture test.
The doctor could have suspected it after examination, and then found the culture test positive for infection. So the doctor gave you a course of Ciprofloxacin.(antibiotic).
Seminal vesicle infections and prostatitis are suspected, after a rectal examination by a qualified Urologist. It's further confirmed after a TRUS(trans rectal ultrasound scan), which your doctor would've advised.
Semen culture is also advised, if the suspicion is high.
You should have a review check-up and rectal examination, to clear any doubts.
Wish you good health.
