What Causes Sharp Pain In Shaft Of Penis Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Dec 2014
Question: Today while having particularly rough sex with my girlfriend I started to feel a sharp pain in the shaft of my penis. After a little while the pain subsided and I climaxed normally and then continued having sex. However the second time I climaxed there was blood in the ejaculate but there was no pain. I figured I ruptured a blood vessel but it's still bleeding but not profusely. There is blood whenever I pee but no pain urinating. The last couple times the blood was dark red. How long will it continue to bleed? How long will it take to heal? Should I see a general practitioner or a urologist?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I understand your concern.I would like to tell you that after reading your query and knowing your age, I would suggest you not to worry and to give your body little more time to heal.

Sometime due to trauma, small blood vessel might be injured, leaking blood into the ejacultate or urine.Mostly people below the age of 40 do not have any seroius underlying disorder.

In most cases, if blood in the semen is not associated with any known abnormality of other troubling symptoms, no treatment is given, and the condition usually resolves on its own with time in these situations. Persistent blood in semen for a month or more, even in the absence of other symptoms warrants further or follow-up evaluation.

Please take rest and drink lot of water. If your problems do not subside after a few days, please see a urologist.

Hope I answered your query.Feel free to ask more.

Hello doctor. I seem to be OK. The bleeding as far as I could tell stopped later that night. How long should I wait before attempting anything sexual? What should I do if there is blood the ejaculate the next time I have sex?

Brief Answer:
about 2 week

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir!

Thank you for writing back!

I think you should rest for about 2 weeks before starting sex since the first incident.Refrain from rough intercourse.

Hopefully you would not get to see blood next time, if you see blood next time, please consult a physician.
