Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

It is hard to bear such a sudden pain and I understand how distressing this could be. I however trust you will be well soonest.

It is important to know a few things with regards to this pain. Is this the first time you are experiencing such a pain? Are you already in menopause or do you have any premenopausal symptoms (sweating, cold and hot feeling fluctuations, getting moody and distressed so frequently than before), do you vomit? do you have fever? are you so tired? or do you have diarrhea?

In case this is not recurrent, no fever, no diarrhea, no vomiting, you are not so tired this could not be very life threatening and you should not get so weary. It is however important to get to know the other characteristics of the pain like intensity, if it irradiates to other areas, and the actual nature if it like a stab or a twist.

It is not uncommon however to get some excessive intestinal cramps which could at times be very distressing and usually fade out, at times with no drugs needed. Taking some drugs that reduce abnormal excessive contractions (anti spasmodic drugs) could be very helpful. These could be obtained over the counter.

If there are no alarming signs as mentioned above, you could stay calm and try the anti spasmodic drugs. Watching for persistence, aggravation or addition of other symptoms remains however critical. In case of any of these, reporting to the emergency room would be my advice. You could watchfully, in my opinion, take an antispasmodic drug and wait.

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health. Do not hesitate asking any follow up questions in case of need.
