Brief Answer:
relaxation exercises; long acting benzodiazepines.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Dear XXXXXXX I can understand your concerns.

Your symptoms of shivering in hands, weakness and heaviness in chest and problem in breathing are suggestive of recurrence of your anxiety. Or it can be the withdrawal effects of deanxit.

I have some suggestions for you which will prove helpful:

1. I have many similar cases in my opd as the drug has been banned almost worldwide. For them, I adopt the strategy of treating their anxiety by a long-acting benzodiazepine (anti-anxiety drugs). I prefer to use chlordiazepoxide or diazepam (prescription drug). When the symptoms resolve, i gradually decrease the dose on weekly basis. This strategy has virtually no risk of side effects or dependence on drug. And my most of the patients are now drug free and doing very well.
I would suggest you to discuss this with your psychiatrist. Please donot take the drugs on your own.

2. Practice relaxation exercises like slow and deep breathing and meditation. This will lessen your anxiety levels and improve your breathing.

3. Avoid tea, coffee, smoking and alcohol, if you take. These are known precipitants of anxiety.

Hope you find my suggestions useful.

Feel free to ask further, if you have more queries.

Kindly close the discussion if you are satisfied with my response and give your feedback.

I wish you good health.
Thanks.

Hello Dr Mehta,

Thank you for your reply and medicine advise. I have a small confusion here is My Anxiety is not due to alcohol yes I do consume alcohol but not frequently but once in month and I Prefer having tea in the evening daily but not as an habit. My anxiety is all about it is due to situation I face in daily life may be personal or official if any unusual things happen in with me that same thing go on in my mind for long time and I keep thinking about it I cannot come out of that situation that easily. It is like my mind is always filled with something of the other.

Do I still use the above said medicine.

I was advised to do Mind Relaxation exercise but due to less time I am not doing on regularly. Now I will take a Pledge of doing it regularly without fail.

Brief Answer:
SSRIs and Relaxation exercises.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up query.
Chlordiazepoxide or diazepam are not specific for alcohol induced anxiety. They can be used for all cases of anxiety with the advantage that their habit-causing tendency is very less.

You have anxiety stemming from your daily life situations. For such symptoms, SSRI drugs like escitalopram work very well.
But again these drugs are prescription drugs and to be taken under psychiatrist' supervision.
SSRIs take 1-2 weeks to show their effects. I would suggest you to take them regularly.

As SSRIs can cause anxiety for initial 3-4 days, benzos(chlordiazepoxide) can be taken for short-term with SSRIs.

Do practice mind relaxation techniques.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.
