Posted on Sat, 23 Aug 2014
Question: my wife), is getting menstrual cycle of 15-17 days nowadays. What would be the reason as we got married recently? Do we need to take any test or this is normal? The cycle was 23-16 days previously and reduced recently.

Brief Answer:
Blood tests and ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is common to have deranged hormones after marriage and cycle derangement results from that hormonal imbalances.
But still to be on safer side I would recommend to get thyroid hormone profile and complete blood count tested so that if these are deranged they can be dealt with easily.
And in case all the tests are normal then I would suggest you to get a transvaginal ultrasound so as to see for the size of uterus and presence of ovarian cyst or any other pathology.
I hope I have answered your question but in case you have any orher questions I will be happy to help
