Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would recommend checking your blood pressure value, as your actual complains may be related to uncontrolled hypertension.

In such case, if blood pressure values result abnormally high, you need to optimize your blood pressure therapy (after checking BP values several times daily for a couple of days and then discussing with your prescribing doctor).

But, if BP values are extremely high (>180/100 mmHg) then you should ask medical assistance to the nearest ER service at your living area.

Other medical tests should be done as well:

- complete blood count,
- resting ECG,
- chest X ray study,
- blood glucose level,
- blood electrolytes level, etc.

in order to investigate for any possible underlying causes.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

2 years ago, I was hiking 5 hours and longer in the mountains, than the dizziness came. Went to ER, had ultrasound done, CT scan (or MRI?), was sent to heart clinic, got tested. Nobody found anything major. My blood pressure before pills was 165/105, got it down (with medication) to up and down between 150/85 to 110/60. Seems quite disturbing to me ? My physical condition now is at 30% of 2 years ago.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information.

It seems that the situation occurred 2 years ago has not revealed any underlying causes.

Anyway, as your situation has been aggravated during the last years, I would recommend performing further tests to investigate for the possible causes:

- a chest X ray and respiratory function tests to exclude possible lung disorder
- a cardiac ultrasound to examine your cardiac function and structure
- the above mentioned blood lab tests (complete blood count for anemia, kidney and liver function tests, thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes, PCR and sedimentation rate for inflammation).

Another point to consider would be if you are using betablockers. They are known to reduce the physical performance as a common adverse effect. If you are taking any drugs of this class you should consider stopping them and switching to other antihypertensive drugs.

A raise in the doses of antihyperetnsive drugs may be needed to control better your blood pressure.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings,

Dr. Iliri
