Brief Answer:
He is suffering from proteinuria.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

It is clear that your husband has proteinuria. Normally only small amount of protein is present in urine. For a random urine sample, normal amount of protein is approximately 0 to 8 mg/dL. Your husband has excess about along with hematuria (blood in urine).

Now the cause can be related to any renal disorder arising form chronic hypertension, diabetes, glomerulonephritis, etc. Without thorough investigation it would not be appropriate to name the cause. He need proper clinical examination and further investigations. He is rightly advised for ultrasonography. It will screen KUB region. Besides the ultrasound he may also routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile,l XXXXXXX function test, urine RE/ME, complete renal function test (include serum urea, creatinine,GFR,creatinine clearance, sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, bicarbonate, phosphorus, 24 hour protein excretion etc).Further investigation can be done if needed.

Get well soon.

Hope I have answered your question.
