What Causes Sinus Pressure, Blocked Ears And Trouble In Hearing?

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Jul 2015
Question: I recently was flying home while being all congested. I was experiencing sinus pressure, watery eyes, and the works. The change in cabin pressure while experiencing all this left me unable to pop my ears to aliviate the pressure in my ears and I began to experience some pain. Since being home, I've begun to get better but I am still hving trouble with one ear. I can't hear as well in that ear. What do I do?

Brief Answer:
you are most probably having eustachian tube blockage or dissolved wax .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having eustachian tube blockage or dissolved wax in that ear.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
get the ear clean by ENT specialist if whitish brown color dissolved wax seen in ear by torch .

If wax absent , then it is due eustachian tube blockage .

I would advice , continue nasal spray (oxymetazoline/xylometazoline ), neti pot .

Use steam inhalation twice daily , paracetamol for pain & antihistamine tablet at night .

You will get relief .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
