Question : Hi...This is XXXXXXX .Recently I get my baby boy, newly born on 10th Feb,just 2 weeks old..Now,Mom has to stress a lot to wake up baby for feeding in night times..He seems lying in a deep sleep exactly at 8:00 to 11:30 pm..Is there any special reason that baby gets into sound sleep at night..? Or else any temperature conditions may be a reason?

Brief Answer:
Not to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I understand your concern. You have to feed every 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs once or whenever the baby cries. That is demand feeding.

As long as his weight gain is normal, there is nothing to worry if the baby sleeps for 4 hours at a stretch. There is no special reason but it can be that the baby is not hungry/ has fed well before, or is very tired. So in any case it is best to wake the baby and feed even if the baby sleeps for 3 hours or more.

I hope this answered your query.
