default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jul 2015
Question: I woke up this morning with a slight pain in my right groin and pelvis area. I took some IBprofin but it is getting worse instead of better. It seems to hurt the most right above my testicle up into my pelvis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

To answer this question I need to know some details.

Do you perform any physical activity regularly (like jogging or bike ridding)? Do you have any pain when coughing? Does the pain appear when walking and disappears when not moving the leg? Do you have any lump in the groin? Do you have any burning while urinating?

I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.

I do ride a bike and lift weights on a regular basis. I have not experienced pain when coughing. The pain has been less since laying down and applying ice. I have no lumps that I know of and no burning when urinating.

Brief Answer:
Abductor muscle tendon inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Than yours pain is most likely caused by abductor muscle tendons inflammation. Due to physical activity and minor injuries tendon which starts in the groin, close to testicle gets inflamed.
Very characteristic for this condition is pain when moving the leg.

I suggest you to continue with Ibuprofen, have lukewarm compresses on this area and rest. You should avoid physical activity for few weeks.

This should go away with such treatment. If not, ultrasound can help determining the diagnosis.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
