Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for your query.
Regarding the symptoms as mentioned in your post, kindly let us know about the following:
1. How did the symptoms start & since how many days is it present?
2. Is it continuous throughout the day or present only during certain period of the day?
3. Is it associated with pain, burning sensation, or bleeding in the oral cavity?
4. Any recent change in the type of toothpaste or mouthwash used?
5. Any complaints of acid reflux, pain abdomen, vomiting, altered bowel habit like loose motion or constipation?
6. Any recent history of acute illness or injury to the buccal area?
7. Any past history of Hypertension, Diabetes or Thyroid disorder, etc.?
8. Any association with stress, food intake, sleep disturbance or travel?
9. Habit of smoking or alcohol consumption?
10. History of recent or prolonged intake of any medication?
11. Any other associated symptoms like dryness of mouth, eyes or presence of skin lesions (rashes, white spots, etc.) in the body or buccal area?
A knowledge of the above mentioned facts will be helpful to make a better diagnosis and formulate an appropriate management plan.
If possible, also attach a picture of your oral cavity/ buccal area.
Though symptomatic relief can be obtained with intake of multivitamin + mineral supplements and maintaining good oral hygiene, the underlying cause needs to be treated.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
