Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Well, first of all, please clarify a few details so that I can help better in this scenario:
Are her menstrual periods regular? If not, when was the last time she had her periods?
Is this the first time she's experiencing this?
Is there any pain abdomen/nausea/vomiting or any other concerns?
Are you sexually active?
You've mentioned there're no clinical problems, so did you mean that she's already been examined by any doctor? If yes, please let me know the details of the examination.
Had it been going for only a few days, it could've been attributed to hormonal/even related to PMS (Premenstrual syndrome), but as you explain it's persisting for weeks, it requires further evaluation.
Kindly revert with these details so that I can guide you further.
Take care.

 Follow-up consultation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Well, from your description it seems like PMS only. I'd suggest you just be vigilant and not force her into any activities that she doesn't like to do. Let her eat simple home-cooked food whichever she feels like eating. If appetite's a concern, you can give her Cap. Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily 10-15 min before breakfast for the next 3-4 days.
A better person to discuss at this time will be someone senior (someone from the family like her mother/ elder sister or anyone that she's close to). Just wait and watch for the periods, it should resolve on its own.
Since you've mentioned about the thyroid issues, it'll be important to see when it was last checked. If it was more than 3 months back, then I'd suggest getting a fresh Thyroid function assay also. If she's taking medications for that, perhaps it'll be even more important to recheck for further dose adjustment/requirement.
No need to worry, but if the symptoms persist/worsen despite following this or beyond the next 3-4 days, then I'd suggest getting a Gynecological check-up for further assessment.
Take care.

Make sure she doesn't skip any thyroid medications.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The most important factor will be making sure she doesn't skip any of the thyroid medication doses under any circumstances.
Yes, let her parents talk to her in the meanwhile.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care.
